Description

VCI powder is designed to provide interior metal surfaces of enclosed systems with protection from corrosion causing elements. The common application uses of these powder include:

  • Preservation, lay-up and mothball applications to protect the internal cavities and recesses of equipment.
  • In a mothballed facility, where the powder keeps the machinery in working conditions, to ensure production can resume whenever needed.
  • Preserving of equipment that requires hydrostatic testing before shipment and storage.

Water-soluble and silica-free the VCI powder is capable of protecting the interior metal surfaces of enclosed systems such as:

  • Boilers
  • Turbines
  • Heat exchangers
  • Compressors
  • Tubes, pipes
  • Power generation equipment
  • Mining equipment
  • Drilling equipment

The Nox-Rust® VCI Powder is applied by dusting, sprinkling or fogging it into an enclosed space with the use of a low-pressure hose or by dissolving it in water.

Stream Peak’s VCI powders are not only safe and environmentally friendly, but they are also phosphate, heavy metal and nitrate-free.

Nox-Rust VCI Powder 1000SF

Nox-Rust VCI Powder 1000SF protects ferrous metals from corrosion and rusting. Silica-free and water-soluble, the 1000SF protects equipment during lay-up, storage and hydrostatic testing. It is also available in two different forms:

  • Nox-Rust 1000SF Loose Powder

The 1000SF loose powder can be applied by dusting, fogging or dissolving it in water. Removal of the powder is not needed when restarting the equipment. Sold in 5-lb & 25-lb boxes.

  • Nox-Rust 1000SF Pouch Emitter

Each Nox-Rust 1000SF Pouch Emitter comes in 8″ x 11″, capable of protecting up to 900 cubic feet of enclosed space. Use the pouch emitter by placing it inside boilers, tanks, void spaces inside vessels, turbines and stream or condensate pipelines.

Once applied, the breathable polyethylene sealed bag is then able to diffuse slowly, protecting ferrous metals during equipment inactivity, storage or lay-up over a long duration.

Nox-Rust VCI Powder 1000SFG

The 1000SFG is a finely grounded version of the 1000SF, featuring similar functions. However, unlike the 1000SF, the 1000SFG is ideal for applications where a fine powder is needed.

Nox-Rust VCI Powder 1010SFG

Silica-free and water-soluble, the Nox-Rust VCI Powder 1010 SFG is a finely grounded powder, ideal for ferrous metals. It is also compatible with other metals such as copper, brass and galvanised steel.

It can be used wet or dry. The powder does not require any removal before the restart/ usage of the protected equipment.

Nox-Rust VCI Powder 1015

Water-soluble & silica-free, the Nox-Rust VCI Powder 1015 protects ferrous metals in equipment during lay-up, storage and hydrostatic testing from elements that result in corrosion. Other than powder form, 1015 is also available in:

  • Nox-Rust 1015 Pouch Emitter

The pouch emitter is capable of protecting up to 15 cubic feet of exposed metals inside an enclosure. These pouches are ideal where application methods such as fogging or spraying of powders are not ideal or possible.

Key Features

Applications

There are two ways to apply VCI Powder as a coating, wet or dry application.

For dry application, the anti-corrosion powder can be applied by dusting, fogging or sprinkling. The powder can later be removed by compressed air or water.

For wet application, mix with water and then apply the mixture by either spraying, brushing or dipping the equipment directly into it.

can be used in:

  • Tubular structures, pipes and vessels.
  • Internal surfaces of compressors, turbines, engines, tanks, boilers, heat exchangers.
  • Equipment protection after hydrostatic testing.
  • Parts, components and completed assemblies during
  • Shipping and storage.
