FOOG Vent

The Filtered Outlet Gassing (FOOG) Vent can prevent overpressure emitted by products during and after production. Such gases include nitrogen gas that is often emitted after processing, where it is used to eliminate moisture, inhibit oxygen and humidity. The integral non-return valve allows gas to leave the bulk container/vessel but prevents gas from entering, minimising the risk of product contamination. As changes in temperature affect pressure, the use of FOOG Vent will help to equalise the pressure. Capable of withstanding side loads and shocks during filling and transit, the vent features a sintered plastic to guard against fine powder released and protects the non-return valve’s effective operation. This device is a typical application used to protect storage bags that contain milk powder and food aggregates. The vent can be directly mounted into gas tap flanges or bulkhead mounted with an adaptor flange. The FOOG is also FDA approved, which makes it safe for contact with food products. It can also be sterilised for re-use.
