Activated clay, commonly known as bentonite or montmorillonite clay, is a highly porous and natural desiccant renowned for regulating humidity levels.

This efficiency stems from its capability to absorb water vapour from the surrounding environment. Activated clay distinguishes itself with its capacity to release absorbed moisture when heated beyond 50°C, facilitating its reusability upon saturation.

Natural Solution for Humidity Control

The desiccant can absorb up to 25% of its weight in moisture. This attribute makes it ideal for maintaining an optimally dry environment, thus ensuring the protection of various products by efficiently absorbing excess moisture from the air.

Bentonite clay, a mineral extracted from quarries, undergoes processing to be transformed into granular form. These granules exhibit a somewhat coarser texture than silica gel, giving them a distinct feel. To ensure maximum efficacy, the desiccant is thoroughly dried in specialised furnaces, eliminating moisture.

Furthermore, activated clay is characterised by its chemical neutrality; it is odourless, non-corrosive, and non-toxic, making it an ideal choice for various applications. It retains its physical form even when fully saturated with moisture, ensuring consistent performance and reliability.

Safe and Effective Moisture Absorber

This environmentally friendly desiccant underscores its practicality and sustainability for humidity control, performing optimally within standard temperature and relative humidity (RH) ranges.

This makes activated clay ideal for use in various industries, including electronics, pharmaceuticals, food packaging, and more, where maintaining a moisture-free environment is crucial.

Available in different forms, such as pellets, powders and spheres, the desiccants have high absorption capacity, mechanical strength, and low attrition loss. We also offer clay desiccant bags manufactured in-house with ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications.
