ShockWatch Tube is a packaging indicator designed to detect impact during storage and transportation without needing an external power source. Once installed on the packaging, it begins monitoring for shocks instantly. These indicators are highly visible and change to a bright red when an impact occurs.

Proactive Damage Detection and Prevention

The primary function of the ShockWatch Tube is to avert potential problems such as misalignment, calibration loss, or warranty-related repairs that often result from improper handling.

Selecting the appropriate ShockWatch Tube is crucial, as it should align with the amplitude and duration of the impact relative to the product’s vulnerability to damage. Heavier items are generally more prone to damage from lower g-force impacts over extended periods, whereas lighter items are more vulnerable to higher g-force impacts occurring over shorter durations.

  • Encourage Careful Handling: The indicator is instrumental in promoting careful handling which could reduce the likelihood of damage during storage and transit.
  • Identifying Concealed Damage: The indicator could be embedded in Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA). It not only functions as a preventive measure against damage but also as an effective tool for detecting hidden damage or de-calibration.
  • Essential for Quality Assurance: ShockWatch Tubes serve as a quality control tool, especially for products stored for future use or distribution. It identifies if products have suffered damaging impacts, signaling the need for a more thorough inspection, thus preventing the risk of using or distributing damaged or defective items.
