The Proximity Alert System is a collection of necessary equipment/devices from the HIT-NOT series, needed for the entire proximity alert system to work. They include Personal Alarm Devices (PADs) and Collision Avoidance Module (CAM).
Personal Alarm Devices (PAD)
Personal Alarm Device systems detect pedestrians and prevent collisions at the workplace. This PAD system is worn by pedestrians and contains sensors used to detect magnetic fields mounted on the vehicle-mounted generator. Once detected, the sensor will trigger, warning both pedestrian and vehicle operator about the damage. There are 2 types of alarms; one is when the pedestrian is in the Warning Zone (Yellow) of the forklift and the other when the pedestrian is in the Danger Zone (Red) of the forklift. When a pedestrian is detected at the warning zone, the sounder will give a series of 3 beeps and the LED light, whereas when a pedestrian is detected in the danger zone, the sounder will give a continuous beep and LED light.
XL Personal Alarm Device
The Extra Loud Personal Alarm Device (XL PAD) is specially designed for applications in workspaces with loud noises. When placed within 4 inches of a person’s ear, it registers at a minimum of 100 dB and complete with a clip-on LED light on the shirt or vest. Similar to the PAD, the XL PAD is worn by pedestrians and is incorporated with sensing elements that detect magnetic fields. Once identified, it will then send alerts to both the pedestrian and the vehicle operator. The magnetic field can be differentiated into two zones – Warning Zone (Yellow) and Danger Zone (Red). When a pedestrian is detected around the warning zone, the sounder will give 3 beeps and the LED light, whereas, if the pedestrian is in the danger zone, the sounder will give a continuous beep and LED light.
Collision Avoidance Module (CAM)
The Collision Avoidance Module (CAM) is a component of the Magnetic Field Generator or the XL Magnetic Field Generator. It is capable of functioning like a Personal Alarm Device by sensing the magnetic fields from a generator and determining the close proximity of another truck. When magnetic fields are detected, the CAM sends an alarm when two trucks approach close to each other, preventing the vehicles from collisions.
