Humidity Controller (Art)

Humidity Controller (Art)

Protect Art Pieces and Artifacts with Humidity Controllers Art Sorb. Historic art pieces and artefacts are highly vulnerable to damage due to moisture and temperature fluctuations. The presence of humidity in the environment can damage these valuable historical assets. It can cause cracking, colour fading, and deformation. Therefore, they require a robust and powerful solution to counter the effects of humidity and temperature changes.

Humidity Controller (Art) protects invaluable art pieces and historical artefacts. They prevent humidity from destroying treasured historical documents, paintings, fragile fabrics, and many other timeless pieces. These products have accurate moisture absorbing capabilities, which help in maintaining ideal moisture and temperature levels.

The Humidity Controller (Art) is made from highly sensitive silica, which absorbs excess moisture and maintains stable humidity levels with the sealed environment. Through this maintenance-free and cost-effective humidity controller, it is possible to prevent the degradation of art pieces due to climatic fluctuations and preserve heritage items for generations. It remains effective for up to five years.

Quality Art Sorb Humidity Controller at Stream Peak Vietnam

High-quality humidity absorbing solutions help preserve the historical pieces of art, documents, delicate fabrics and many more things from damage and deterioration. They have five-time moisture buffering capabilities as compared to conventional silica gel products. These products work more efficiently at higher relative humidity levels. Our Art Sorb products are available in the form of non-woven sheets, cassettes, and beads. Place the Humidity Controllers at the bottom, sides, and top of the display cases or within a frame inside a box.

The Art Sorb is made to protect artwork, cultural assets and artefacts from damage caused by climatic changes in temperature and humidity. These changes result in the pieces of arts and artefacts degrading over time, causing cracking, colour fading and deformation. The Humidity Controller ArtSorb, a moisture-sensitive silica material is hence, able to prevent the mentioned damages by adsorbing and desorbing moisture to create a constant optimal humidity in a sealed environment. Although air conditioning can prevent damage caused by humidity and heat, a stable microclimate is still necessary for the preservation of artworks and artefacts.

Art Sorb vs Silica Gel

Regular Silica Gel is only capable of adsorbing moisture, leaving an arid environment that is not optimal for artworks. However, the Humidity Controller ArtSorb can react to the humidity changes, providing precise humidity control in environments between 40-70% relative humidity.

Application

The Humidity Controller Artsorb is applicable in display cases and performs best when in an airtight environment. When a heat source such as light is present, use a heat shield to block the light or place the light outside the box. For the Humidity Controller to be effective, there must be adequate contact with air, be in an airtight environment and is spread out evenly. The Humidity Controller should also not be in touch with the artefact. Depending on the environment, the lifespan of the Humidity Controller ArtSorb typically lasts for about 5 years. However, during these 5 years, a process known as humidification is needed which takes place after two to three years after use. A hygrometer can be used to check for dehumidification.
